~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ He was born in Shizuoka, and is most well-known worldwide for his work on the character designs for several games in the Final Fantasy series, as well as for his illustrations of the serial novel Vampire Hunter D by Hideyuki Kikuchi. He also illustrated ', a re-telling of a Japanese fairytale by author Neil Gaiman. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Amano's work is characterized by sweeping, flowing lines, especially when depicting hair and clothing. Much of his work is done with watercolor and ink, although he has used a variety of media in the past. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Amano also appeared in the 1998 movie New Rose Hotel, in which he played the character Hiroshi. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
