Yetunde Price
Yetunde Hawanya Tara Price (August 9, 1972 – September 14, 2003) was the elder half-sister of leading tennis players Venus Williams and Serena Williams, the eldest of their mother's five daughters. Not a celebrity in her own right, she was brought into the public eye when she was the victim of murder by shooting on September 14, 2003. She was a registered nurse and owner of a beauty salon. Price was 31 years old when she got into an altercation with residents of a poor section of Compton, an area of Los Angeles, California known for its history of gang violence. As of 12:30 PM on the date of the murder a 24-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the crime. She died at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
