Collections
Yale has the largest collection of rare books and manuscripts in the world, which is housed in the Beinecke Rare Book Library. Yale's library system is the second-largest university collection in the world with a total of almost 11 million volumes. The main library, Sterling Memorial Library, contains about 5 million volumes. Other collections reside at the Peabody Museum of Natural History, the Yale Center for British Art, Yale University Art Gallery, and the Yale Collection of Musical Instruments.
