Xi'an Jiaotong University
Xi'an Jiaotong University (西安交通大學) is a university in Xi'an, China.

It was established in 1896, under the name Nan Yang College, and became Jiaotong University in 1921, after a merger with several other institutes. Between 1955 and 1959, the university was split into 4 parts located in 4 cities. The Xi'an campus became Xi'an Jiaotong University. It is one of the most important universities in Mainland China, with a recognition "China's Top5 university" in the year 2000.

The alumni include Jiang Zemin, Qian Xuesen, Wu Wenjun, Zhang Guangdou, Jiang Zhenghua and Han Qide. The people of Xi'an Jiaotong University constructed the first dynamo, the first radio-station, the first diesel and the first Chinese typewriter in China.

Today, Xi'an Jiaotong University has about 32,000 students and offers 67 undergraduate, 157 Master's and 17 Ph.D. programs in science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, art and law.
