Xfm Manchester

Xfm Manchester was awarded the FM radio licence to broadcast to the city of Manchester in North West England on June 9, 2005. It is expected to commence operation on 1 February 2006. Probable presenters (cited in the licence application document) include former Inspiral Carpets keyboard player Clint Boon and long-time local radio presenter Terry Christian.

The transmitter is to be located on the roof of the Sunley Building, in the same location as that of Galaxy. However, the station will cover a slightly smaller area, with coverage particularly limited to the North of Manchester. Xfm's expected service area encompasses around two million people.
