Woozle


 
 

A woozle is a fictional creature mentioned in the Winnie the Pooh stories, and the name of one of ventriloquist Jeff Dunham's puppets.

No woozle illustrations appear in A. A. Milne's original stories, but it is often assumed that a woozle is something like a weasel, and they are depicted as such in the films as well as the television series The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

In the television series, they are enemies of Pooh and his friends, are known for stealing honey, and are often associated with heffalumps. One particular woozle featured on the series was a villain called Stan. His sidekick was a dim-witted heffalump called Heff.

Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham's puppet named Peanut is described as a mammal native to Micronesia. Mystery Science Theater 3000 fans have noticed Jeff's line being used on MST3K: "He's a woozle, and his name is Peanut."
