Woodford Green is a suburban area of Woodford in the London Borough of Redbridge in East London, surrounded by the Epping Forest.

The parliamentary constituency of Chingford and Woodford Green is represented by Conservative M.P. Iain Duncan Smith, who led the Conservative Party from 2001 to 2003. IDS is a successor of Winston S. Churchill, who was also M.P. for this area. Churchill is commemorated by a statue on the Green at Woodford.

Suprisingly, throughout his time in office, PM Clement Atlee ( Labour, 1945-51) had a residence in Woodford Green, the seat of his opponent, Winston Churchill. A plaque to that effect resides on a house in the area.

Woodford has another claim to fame-Tony Robinson, the actor who played the role of "Baldrick" in the "Blackadder" series was educated at Woodford Green Preparatory School.
