Wise Children
Wise Children is a novel by Angela Carter detailing the bawdy fortunes of two sassy chorus girls, the Chance sisters, and their bizarre theatrical family. It explores the subversive nature of fatherhood, the denying of which leads the twins Nora and Dora Chance to frivolous "illegitimate" lechery. Also, the novel depicts quite successfully the degradation of the showbiz and theatre industry.
