Window screen
A window screen is a wire or nylon mesh stretched in a frame, and is designed to cover an openable window. Its primary purpose is to keep insects, birds and animals from entering a building through an opened window. This is very useful in areas that have large mosquito populations, and most houses in North America have screens on all openable windows. Window screens allow for outside air flow into the house, while preventing undesired intrusions. They are, however, fragile and require regular replacement.
