Winchester is a city located in Randolph County, Indiana. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 5,037. The city is the county seat of Randolph County{{GR|6}}.
Notable natives and former residents
- James P. Goodrich (1864 - 1940), Governor of Indiana, 1917 -1921, was born in Winchester and is buried in Fountain Park Cemetery there.
- Robert Wise (1914 - 2005), Hollywood director, was born in Winchester.
