Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is a 1971 musical film based on the 1964 children's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by British author Roald Dahl (who disowned the film). The film was directed by Mel Stuart and stars Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka and Peter Ostrum as Charlie Bucket.

A second film adaptation of the children's book, in 2005 directed by Tim Burton, was titled Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This film version stared Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka and Freddie Highmore as Charlie Bucket.
