William MacGregor
Sir William MacGregor (20 October 1846 – 3 July 1919). Born in Scotland he became a medical officer in the British Colonial Service. He was Administrator of British New Guinea from 1888 to 1895 when he became the first Lieutenant-Governor.

He was Governor of Queensland from 1909 to 1914 and also first chancellor of the University of Queensland.
