William Alexander Percy
William Alexander Percy (1885 - 1942) was an American poet from Greenville, Mississippi. His autobiography Lanterns on the Levee is his best known work. His father Leroy Percy was a United States Senator from Mississippi.

Percy was a literary man of letters in the southern United States and friend of fellow writer William Faulkner. His cousin was Walker Percy, who he adopted with two siblings after the death of his aunt, Walker's mother, in a car accident. A young Shelby Foote also knew Percy.
