Wilbur Lucius Cross
Wilbur Lucius Cross (1862 - 1948) was an American educator and political figure. He was a well-known literary critic and the Democratic Governor of Connecticut from 1931 to 1939.

Cross was Professor of English at Yale University and was also Dean of the Yale Graduate School. Along with Tucker Brooke, Cross was the editor of the Yale Shakespeare; he edited the Yale Review as well.

Wilbur L. Cross High School in New Haven, Connecticut and the Wilbur Cross Parkway were named after him, as was the Wilbur L. Cross Medal for outstanding achievement in professional life, awarded by Yale.
