West Kensington
West Kensington is a neighborhood in the North Philadelphia section of Philadelphia. The Market Frankford El above Front Street forms the line between West Kensington and its bordering neighborhoods to the east (Kensington and Fishtown), although its other boundaries are less well-defined. Historically, it had been populated by Irish-Americans. It continues its legacy as an immigrant community by housing a growing Hispanic population.

Norris Square is located in West Kensington. It is a small park arranged in a similar function to the four original public squares in Center City (such as Rittenhouse Square). Decline during the 70s and 80s manifested itself in an open air drug trade in Norris Square after dark. Major urban renewal efforts over the last decade, along with a flourishing immigrant community have helped improve the square, and many areas in the vicinity of Fairhill's "Centro de Oro".
