Wessex Tales

The novel Wessex tales was written in 1888 by the author, poet, and novelist Thomas Hardy the novel is not one tale but six, these are, The withered Arm, The Son's Veto, Tony Kytes, the arch deceiver, Absent-mindedness in a Parish Choir, The Melancholy Hussar of the German legion, and the distracted preacher.Thomas Hardy wrote about the people and places he knew, and never more directly than in his short stories. They are full of characters and incidents of his immediate experience-smugglers, healers, country musicians, local squires and parasons, the eccentric and strait-laced.
