WERE is an AM radio station in Cleveland, Ohio operating on 1300 kHz.

In the 1950s and 1960s, the station was a middle-of-the-road radio station with personalities that included Bill Gordon, Bob Neal and Jack Riley. During this period, WERE was the flagship station for Cleveland Indians broadcasts.

In the 1970s, WERE adopted a talk radio format, with controversial hosts, such as Gary Dee, Merle Pollis and Joel Rose. The station used the nickname "People Power."

In recent years, WERE has developed into station featuring mostly brokered programs, in which a radio producer purchases time from the station, and then produces the program and sells commercials and keeps the profit. As a result, the programming is very diverse.
