Weekend Edition

Weekend Edition is the name given to a set of American radio news programs produced and distributed by National Public Radio (NPR). It is effectively the weekend version of Morning Edition, and consists of Weekend Edition Saturday and Weekend Edition Sunday, each of which airs for two hours. As of 2005, those programs are hosted by Scott Simon and Liane Hansen, respectively.

The programs feature longer stories than Morning Edition, more arts and culture stories, and more commentaries than the weekday equivalent. On Saturdays the program has a discussion of the week's events with commentator Daniel Schorr. On Sundays the show broadcasts "Week in Review", an audio montage of sound clips from the week's events, and has the "Puzzle" puzzle game with New York Times crossword puzzle editor Will Shortz.
