WCBS-TV
WCBS-TV, "CBS2" located in New York City, is the flagship TV station of the CBS television network. Its signal, currently broadcasting from the Empire State Building, covers the New York Tri-State Region. The station is seen via satellite in the U. S. through Dish Network and DirecTV, with DirecTV providing coverage to Latin America. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ WCBS-TV was founded in 1941 as WCBW and became WCBS in 1946 after CBS Radio's flagship, WABC-AM, became WCBS-AM. From 1946 to 1997, the station was simply branded as Channel 2. In 1997, it adopted the CBS 2 name along with CBS' other "heritage" owned-and-operated stations, KCBS-TV in Los Angeles and WBBM-TV in Chicago, while retaining a unique and destinctive logo.
