Waukesha, Wisconsin
Waukesha is a city located in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 64,825. It is the county seat of Waukesha County{{GR|6}}. The city is located adjacent to the Town of Waukesha. Its name means "By the Little Fox". It is pronouced "Wau-ka-shaw" and not "Wau-ke-sha" The city's teenage population commonly calls the city, the 'sha, a name which dates back to the 1940's.
History
Waukesha was known around the world for its extremely clean and good-tasting water from its hot springs and was called a spa town. However, emissions have since ruined these springs, and a number have gone dry.
