Washington DC (southeast)
Southeast DC is the southeastern quadrant of the city, located south of East Capitol Street and east of South Capital Street. It has a rich cultural history, including the historic Anacostia neighborhood, the Navy Yard, the Anacostia River waterfront, the remains of several Civil War-era forts, RFK Stadium and the Congressional Cemetery. It also is plagued by a reputation of having a relatively high crime rate. The population of Southeast is almost entirely African-American, particularly east of the Anacostia River.
