Warpath

Warpath, developed by Dan Samuel of Synthetic-Reality, is a shareware 4X real-time multi-player game where up to 8 players race to explore, mine, colonize, develop, and conquer the galaxy. Although designed primarily as a multi-player game, it can also be played solo with robot friends and enemies. These robots can also take sides in a multiplayer game. The shareware version allows 20 free hours of gameplay before requiring an activation code.

Currently, there are three versions of Warpath: Warpath Classic, Warpath 97, and Warpath 21st Century. Warpath Classic was the original version of the game and differs greatly from the other two versions. The game area is half-size and only has half of the technologies of the other two versions. Warpath Classic is now freeware. Warpath 97 was a major upgrade to Warpath Classic adding new technology and expanding on the game area. Warpath 21st Century is the latest manifestation of Warpath. The game is still in Beta testing and is very similar to Warpath 97. Both Warpath 97 and Warpath 21st Century are shareware.
