Warendorf
Warendorf is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, capital of the district Warendorf. In the Late Middle Ages, Warendorf was an important trading centre and belonged to the Hanse.

It is twinned with Petersfield, Hampshire, UK and Barentin (France).

Warendorf is known for its well preserved medieval inner city, horses (North Rhine-Westphalias "Langestuet" and the National Olympic Committee for horseback riding are located in Warendorf), and the possibilities for cycling. As bicycles are a common means for transport in the area, many bicycle lanes have been built, even alongside mainstreets outside the town.

Warendorf has hosted several international events like skydiving world-championships, riding events or German swimming championships.
