Walter Payton Man of the Year Award
The Walter Payton Man of the Year award is given annually by the National Football League honoring a player's volunteer and charity work, as well as his excellence on the field. Each year, a winner is selected from 32 nominees from the 32 different teams. A panel of judges selects the winner of the award. The Man of the Year winner receives a $25,000 donation in his name, the other 31 finalists receive $1,000 each.

In 2004, Warrick Dunn rushed over 1,000 yards and helped single mothers move into their first homes by providing a down payment on the home and then furnishing the home with everything a home needs, from lawnmowers, washers, dryers, linens, etc. He has helped people in the areas in which he has played for NFL teams: Atlanta, Georgia and Tampa, Florida.
