Walt Michaels
Walt Michaels In 1978.in his second season as Jets head coach, he led the team to an 8-8 record, a 5-game improvement and earned AFC Coach of the Year.

In 1981, his Jets came from an 0-3 start to finished the season 10-5-1 and the Jets' first playoff berth since 1969. Michaels was fired as New York Jets head coach after the 1982 season.
