VW Polo
The VW Polo is a compact car manufactured by Volkswagen, sold mainly in Europe. It is generally available only as a hatchback but there have also been sedan and wagon variants. The current sedan is only available in China, South America and South Africa, where sedans are more popular. The first generation's sedan version was called VW Derby or VW Polo Classic. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The Mk I Polo was an Audi design. The Audi 50 was introduced in 1974, the cheaper (and much more basic) Polo in 1975. It was manufactured at the VW plant in Wolfsburg and sold as both the Polo and as the Audi 50. In 1977 the Derby was released: A Polo with a big boot attached (which was an old Audi design, but was never sold as an Audi).
