Vow (Garbage song)

Single release

"Vow" was submitted to the UK compilation CD series 'Volume' in September 1994, simply because it was the only song the band had finished. After the song was picked up by LA radio station KROQ, and UK Radio 1 DJs Steve Lamacq and John Peel, and subsequent interest in the song, the band felt it only right to put it out as their debut single.

In the UK it was issued in March 1995 through the Discordant label on 7" vinyl only. All 1,000 copies were snapped up. In the US it was issued in June 1995 through Almo Sounds and reached No. 97 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also issued in Australia and Europe that month backed with two exclusive new tracks, "Subhuman" and "#1 Crush". In Australia the single reached number 32.
