Voronezh

Voronezh (????????) is a large city in the south of Central Russia, not far from Ukraine. It is located on the river Voronezh in 12 km away of the emptying of Voronezh River in Don and is the administrative center of Voronezh Oblast. Important railway conjuction (lines to Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Kiev). Geographical location {{coor dm|51|43|N|39|16|E|}}. Population (census 2002): 848,700 (660,000 in 1970; 447,000 in 1959; 344,000 in 1939; 120,000 in 1926). Administrative division: 5 districts.
