Volksmusik

Volksmusik is a style of traditional music often accompanied by one or especially two singers, which is most popular amongst older people in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It tends to be dialect-heavy and invokes local and regional lifestyles and traditions, particularly dances. Alpine musical instruments, such as Alpenhorns, Zithers, acoustic guitars, violas and harmonicas are heavily featured. Yodeling is also common.
