Vivekananda College
Vivekananda College, named after Swami Vivekananda, was founded in the late 1940s and is located in the centre of Madras, in Mylapore on 20 acres (81,000 m²). It is affiliated to the University of Madras and provides Arts, Science and Commerce courses at the Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral levels. It is an affiliated branch centre of Ramakrishna Mission.

The offers instruction in English medium and admits only men students. The college has been accredited with B++ grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college has attained "Autonomous" status in the academic year 2004-05. An evening college offering various programmes under unaided pattern was opened in 1974.
