Viktor had a crush on Hermione Granger, continually coming to the library to meet her, but did not have the courage to act on his feelings until just before the Yule Ball. It's believed Hermione and Krum will kiss in the film version of the fourth book. Though no kiss between them has ever been seen "on-screen," Ginny Weasley mentioned in passing in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince that they had kissed, which had to have occurred in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, as he was not in the fifth book and Hermione did not end up visiting him in Bulgaria.

We also see, however briefly, Viktor Krum's parents in the chapter "The Third Task" in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He seems to have inherited his mother's, Mrs. Krum's dark hair, and his father's, Mr. Krum's hooked nose.
