Victoria is a city located in Victoria County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 60,603. It is the county seat of Victoria County{{GR|6}}. Victoria is home to Victoria College, the University of Houston-Victoria, and pro wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Geography

Victoria is located at 28°49'1" North, 96°59'36" West (28.816866, -96.993462){{GR|1}}. It is one of the state's old, historic cities. The original colony founded in 1824 was named for the first president of Mexico, Don Guadalupe Victoria.
