Queen consort of King Gustav V of Sweden. Her parents were Grand Duke Frederick I of Baden and his wife, Princess Louise of Prussia, who was in turn the daughter of German Emperor Wilhelm I and Augusta of Saxe-Weimar. Victoria was also great-granddaughter (by her paternal grandmother) of King Gustav IV Adolf of Sweden and Frederica Dorothea Wilhelmina of Baden.

She was born at the castle in Karlsruhe in Germany, and married Gustav, then Crown Prince of Sweden and Norway, on September 20, 1881. She became Queen of Sweden at her father-in-law's death on September 8, 1907. The couple had three children:
