Viborg lies in the heart of Jutland and is renowned for its cathedral. Due to its central position in Jutland, Viborg was a very important city in medieval times.

The construction of the cathedral was started in 1130, and it has burned to the ground more than once. Only the tomb of the original church has been preserved to this day.
