Varan

Varan (バラン - Baran) is a giant monster that first appeared in the 1958 Toho tokusatsu kaiju movie, Giant Monster Varan (Varan the Unbelievable) (大怪獣バラン - Daikaijū Baran). He was killed by swallowing dynamite hidden in a sky flare, and sank to the bottom of the sea.

He later made a cameo appearance in the Godzilla film, Destroy All Monsters (1968).
