is a French singer and actress. She was discovered on the TV show L'Ecole Des Fans. Paradis recorded her first single "La Magie Des Surprises-Parties" (The Magic of Surprise Parties) in 1985 and became famous with the song "Joe le Taxi" in 1987. She has since appeared in several films, most famously 1999's "La Fille Sur Le Pont" (The Girl on the Bridge), a black and white love story co-starring Daniel Auteuil, and 2004's "Mon Ange". It has been said that her level of fame in France is equivalent to that of Shania Twain in the U.S., but without the country music overtones.
