Vadim Repin
Vadim Repin (born Novosibirsk, Western Siberia, 31 August 1971) is a Russian violinist. He specializes in Russian music, particularly the great Russian violin concertos as well as French music and 20th century and contemporary music.

In his youth Repin studied with Zakhar Bron, but his professional career began early when, at the age of 17, he won the Queen Elisabeth competition, an international violin competition in Brussels. Since then he has played with leading conductors including Pierre Boulez, Riccardo Chailly, Charles Dutoit, Valery Gergiev, James Levine, Kurt Masur, Simon Rattle, Esa Pekka Salonen, and Mstislav Rostropovich. He has recorded concertos by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Nikolai Myaskovsky, Shostakovich, and Sibelius, as well as two CDs of violin and piano music works with Boris Berezovsky.

Repin has collaborated on chamber music with pianists Martha Argerich and Mikhail Pletnev, violist Yuri Bashmet, and cellist Mischa Maisky. New music in his repertoire has included work by John Adams and Sofia Gubaidulina.
