V2 Records is a record label started in 1996 by Richard Branson four years after he sold Virgin Records to EMI. V2 has offices in UK, Germany, France, USA, Italy, Sweden, Benelux and Canada and is represented through licensees in 30 other territories. In 1996 the label acquired Junior Boy's Own, Gee Street Records and Big Cat Records. V2 licenses many lables, such as Wichita, Luaka Bop, City Slang and Modular.
