USS Plunger
Three United States Navy ships have borne the name Plunger.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
- The first Plunger (SS-2) was the lead boat of the Plunger-class of submarines and was later renamed as the first A-1.
- The second Plunger (SS-179) was a Porpoise-class submarine used in World War II.
- The third Plunger (SSN-595) was a Thresher-class nuclear submarine commissioned in 1962.
