University of Oklahoma
The University of Oklahoma (OU) is an institution of higher learning located in Oklahoma. The university was founded in 1890. It currently enrolls 31,134 students (27,807 at its largest Campus in Norman, Oklahoma), has over 2,000 full-time faculty members, and offers 154 baccalaureate programs, 152 master's programs, 74 doctorates, eight majors at the first professional level, and five graduate certificates. David Boren is the president of OU.
Athletics

The school's sports teams are called the Sooners, a nickname given to early Oklahoma land rush pioneers. They participate in the NCAA's Division I-A, and in the South Division of the Big Twelve Conference. The University has won 24 team NCAA National Championships. OU's most famous athletic program is football, although the basketball, gymnastics, and baseball teams have all won national championships. OU's largest rivals are the University of Texas and Oklahoma State University. OU has historically had a rivalry with University of Nebraska as well.
