University of Northern Colorado
University of Northern Colorado is a baccalaureate (arts, sciences, humanities, business, human sciences, and education), graduate (primarily in the field of education), and research university located in Greeley, Colorado. It has a 2003 enrollment of over 11,000 students.
Music program
The University of Northern Colorado contains one of the most prestigious music programs in the area. Among their many fields they are quite well known for their jazz studies and music education programs. The programs have won numerous awards including, in 2004, Downbeat magazine's award for outstanding college jazz band. The school has also produced many fine musicians such as John Davis, Clay Jenkins, Dana Landry, Ed Orgill, Don Aliquo, and others. The head of the jazz studies program at the current point in time is Dana Landry.
