University of New Mexico


 

The University of New Mexico (UNM) is a public university in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was founded in 1889, and today offers multiple bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and professional degree programs. Its Albuquerque campus currently spreads over 600 acres (2.4 km²), and UNM has branch campuses in Gallup, Los Alamos, Taos, and Valencia County.

Athletics

The University of New Mexico maintains strong athletic rivalries with New Mexico State University and Texas Tech. The UNM-NMSU rivalry is called the Battle of I-25.

The Lobo basketball team plays at University Arena, better known as "The Pit," located on the UNM campus. The Lobo football team plays at University Stadium, also on campus across the street from The Pit.
