University of Idaho
The University of Idaho is a land-grant university formed by the Territorial Legislature of Idaho in 1889, located in Moscow, Idaho. The university opened its doors on October 3, 1892 with an initial class of 40 students. The first graduating class in 1896 contained two men and two women. Today, the university has an enrollment of over 12,000. The university offers 154 degree programs, from agribusiness to zoology, including bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and specialists' degrees. Certificates of completion are offered in 16 areas of study.
Athletics
The school's colors are silver and gold. Its sports teams are nicknamed the Vandals, and they participate in the NCAA's Division I, in the Western Athletic Conference for all sports. The athletic program offers Football, Men's and Women's Basketball, Men's and Women's Cross-Country, Men's and Women's Golf, Men's and Women's Indoor and Outdoor Track, Men's and Women's Tennis, and Women's Volleyball and Soccer.

University of Idaho hosts numerous facilities for the athletic program. The "Kibbie Dome" is home to the department offices, locker rooms, weight room, and the training facililties. The 17,000 seating capacity arena is the place for football and men?s and women's basketball games. Historic Memorial Gymnasium is the home for Idaho volleyball and men's and women's basketball exhibition games. The Kibbie Dome's indoor facilities offer track & field and tennis a place to practice and compete with the five-lane, 290 meter track and nine tennis courts. The university?s 18-hole championship golf course and numerous outdoor tennis courts complete the facility picture, with new underway.

University of Idaho has a major rivalry with Washington State University, a school whose campus is located only a few miles to the west. It also has in-state rivalries with Boise State University and Idaho State University. Idaho also plays Montana every year in football, with the winner receiving the "Little Brown Stein."
