Universal Studios Japan

Universal Studios Japan is a theme park operated by Universal Studios which is located in Osaka. The park is markedly similar to Universal Orlando Resort because the rides are almost the same. Often the only difference is the language. During the summer of 2004, admission price was marked at 5500 yen, which, depending on the exchange rate which may fluctuate, is roughly 51 US dollars. Rides there include Jurassic Park River Adventure, Twister, Terminator 3-D, and others. Most visitors are Japanese tourists travelling within their own country. Some Americans are present. UPDATE: In 2005 Goldman Sachs became the largest shareholder in Universal Studios Japan. Universal still has a small minority stake in the park.
