The song was never officially released as a single throughout most of the world, but nevertheless became a hit for Morissette. This was particularly true among fans who anxiously anticipated a new album, which was finally released in November 1998. "Uninvited" was not included on that album, Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie; however, a demo version was included on the Australian release.
