TV Land

TV Land is an American cable television network which first started transmissions on April 29, 1996. It is owned by Viacom, which also owns MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon and Noggin. TV Land is a spinoff of Nickelodeon's Nick at Nite.

TV Land's programming primarily consists of reruns of television series from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. More recently, however, shows from the 1980s and 1990s have been aired, such as Cheers and MacGyver. While Nick at Nite focuses on classic sitcoms, TV Land shows programs of all genres.

Another interesting aspect of the channel, although it has tapered off in recent years, is that it airs some old advertisements, called "TV Land Retromercials."
