Turnhout is a municipality located in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium, and in the Flemish province of Antwerp. The municipality only comprises the city of Turnhout proper. On January 1 2005 Turnhout had a total population of 39,561. The total area is 56.06 km² which gives a population density of 705.64 inhabitants per km². The football club from the city is K.V. Turnhout.
