A turkey fryer consists of a stand containing a burner and a metal pot large enough to hold a turkey. The burner uses propane as a fuel source - in many cases it uses the same type of tanks and equipment as grills. The pot often includes a therometer to show the temperature of the oil. The fryer also has a spit to place the turkey on, this is placed in the pot.
