Tsarskoye Selo
Tsarskoye Selo (??????? ???? in Russian, may be translated as ?Tsar?s Village?), a former residence of the royal families and visiting nobility 24 km south of St. Petersburg. It was called Tsarskoye Selo after 1728. In 1918, it was renamed to Detskoye Selo (Children's Village) and in 1937 it was renamed again to the town of Pushkin, commemorating the 100th anniversary since the death of the greatest Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin.
