Troy Murphy

Troy Murphy (born May 2, 1980 in Morristown, New Jersey) is a professional basketball player, currently playing power forward for the National Basketball Association's Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors drafted Murphy with the 14th overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft. Troy grew up in Hackettstown, New Jersey and is the only person ever from Sussex County, New Jersey to be drafted into the NBA. He attended the University of Notre Dame and is currently in the Warriors' starting lineup, playing the position of power forward. Although Murphy ranked 5th in rebounding and 10th in double-doubles for the 2004-05 season, he was often criticized for his lack of defense.
